My Beloved Homeland

By Simon Vutha Ty

My Beloved Homeland
The Darkness, the Ugliness,
The Difficulty, the Tyranny,
The Bereft of all hope,
The Oppressive slavery,
The Excruciating pain to cope,
The Mighty gun barrel,
The Apprehension of being killed,
The Uncommendable politicians,
The Strive for Utopia,
The Starvation one must bear
The Mysterious disappearance,
The Unpredictable flight of faith,
The Unthinkable differences
politicians do not want to put aside;
They think of less and not more;
They disregard the land of Angkor;
They slay their own without a doubt;

If this continues, Cambodia-without-a-doubt will disappear.

Oh, my beloved homeland will vanish from the map.
