Hidden Beauty

By Thyda Ngeth
Long Beach, CA

Beauty is hidden like a precious pearl,
One must seek at the bottom of the sea.
The outside shell rough, disliked by the world.

He is a fool not to see the real me,
For inside beauty is very rare.
Each with its own unique worth and value
With the passing of time, becoming more fair.
It cannot be seen by the eyes, the outside is an illusion , and there he can not see grace.

The real treasure is in the worn shell.
Its light shines bright just like the face.
But only the passing of time shall tell,
To find true beauty one must look in the heart.
There will be found the masterpiece, a work of art.
