Advice on Love
By Bunkong Tuon

We were driving, and the subject of love came up.  My aunt's friend told me that true love didn't exist.  "You have to make it a 'true' love," she said seriously.  "You have to be successful, or love never comes your way."   I cringed at the thought of me selling out, being a fake for love, and asked her, "What about true love?"  And she laughed, "Are you serious?  True love  has never existed, and it never will." "Of course, it does.  Look at my aunt and uncle!"  She laughed harder.  I didn't say much after that.  She dropped me off at Cherry Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway on her way to a friend's place to gamble.
